After Hours Press, LLC was founded in 2001 by Darren Sanchez, Buddy Scalera and Chris Eliopoulos. Today, Sanchez is the sole proprietor and CEO/Publisher of the company.
After Hours Press is a content producer and consultant in the development of intellectual properties (IP’s) through comic books, animation, and custom branded web-sites. AHP has specialized in developing new IP and new franchises through comic books and animation since 2001.
Bringing ideas to life is a specialty of AHP, specializing in creating original story worlds including educational content, super-hero adventures, branded messaging and custom IP development. With experience as the Marvel Custom editor and creative lead, Sanchez has worked with a long list of clients in creating custom, branded, and educational content as comic books and animated stories.
AHP projects include- The Boomer Esiason Foundation, Champions Action Network, You Cannot Fail, Kraft (Cheesasaurus Rex), KFC, Nintendo, and the Centsables to name a few. Our team brings a strong level of professionalism to any concept and is available to discuss developing intellectual properties for clients.

AHP’s creators have created comics, hardcover books and multimedia materials for major publishers including Marvel, DC, Disney Publishing, Image, Dark Horse, Aspen, Archie, Valiant, Top Cow, Black Bull and Wizard Entertainment.

Darren Sanchez, co-founder of AHP, has created and written and/or developed numerous titles including, Genie the Genius (and Genie the Gene), Big Air Jerry, Aeronaut, Dead Money, Celestial Alliance, Foxwood Falcons, JAAT, and Impossible Tales. A former U.S. Army, Chief Warrant Officer and attack helicopter pilot, Sanchez is also a writer, editor, artist, graphic designer, soccer-dad and Master Jedi.
Sanchez has been in the comic book industry since 1993 at Valiant/Acclaim Comics as Managing Editor and Production Director, then later moving on to VP Production for Wizard Entertainment. Currently Sanchez is the custom editor and creative lead at Marvel. Sanchez has worked in all areas of development and production on magazines, comic books, and hardcover publications as well as multi-media (interactive dvd development) for Valiant Comics, Acclaim Entertainment, Wizard Entertainment and Marvel Entertainment.
Sanchez has co-written screenplays and successfully optioned creator owned AHP properties (Foxwood Falcons & Celestial Alliance). He also co-wrote and Executive Produced the award winning independent film, CRY, with Director, Scott Klein of Lights Out Productions.
