Ray Wells is a young genius from the future who creates the technology for time travel only to have it immediately stolen. In an attempt to steal it back he finds himself on a run for his life, in a chase through time. When he is stranded in the late Cretaceous, adrift on a scarcely populated cruise ship, he must fix his burnt out time-hopper before he and the crew of the Orca II get to witness, first-hand, the meteor that wiped out the dinos.
